Check the expiry date of the ECG electrodes before use. Have alcohol swabs, a skin preparation pad, gauze and hypoallergenic tape ready.

A clear recording starts
with good skin preparation.
Prepare the skin carefully and secure each electrode before the patient leaves.
Prepare the electrode sites
If necessary, shave the areas where the electrodes will be placed. Clean the skin with alcohol swabs to remove oils and allow it to dry.
Gently prepare the skin
Gently rub each electrode site with the skin preparation pad 4–5 times. Wipe away any residue with gauze, leaving the skin clean and dry.
Apply and secure the electrodes
For the DMS 300-4L three-electrode setup, follow the placement diagram. Place hypoallergenic tape over each electrode and its snap to help keep the snap securely attached, particularly during sleep.
